Jon Gilbert is an independent producer, mixer, and engineer based in Los Angeles CA.

Jon has spent over 20 years honing his craft working live or in the studio with artists such as Mt. Joy, Flipturn, Pete Yorn, The Kills, Alina Baraz, Banks, The Circle Jerks, and Matt and Kim.

In 2018 Jon produced and recorded the debut album by Mt. Joy, which reached #1 on the Billboard Adult Alternative charts with the single “Silver Lining” and has been certified RIAA Gold. The album has received over 300,000,000 streams to date.

In 1996 at 11 years old, Jon began learning the guitar and making sound on sound tape recordings with and old family stereo he found in the garage. His first tape machine was a Tascam 414, 4 track cassette PortaStudio which he used for the next 10 years to track local bands and produce affordable demos in Redondo Beach and Lomita, CA

At 15 years old, Jon began touring as a roadie, musician, and live sound engineer growing and learning directly in the field. As a result, between 2002 - 2021 Jon mixed several thousand concerts and worked with countless bands in the club and festival circuits.

Over the years, Jon has worked in all types of settings from commercial studios, radio stations, clubs, theaters, festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Outside Lands, SXSW, Splendour in the Grass (Australia) Fuji Rock (Japan), and has guest mixed in arenas such as The Forum, Barclays Center, and Madison Square Garden.

After cultivating such diverse real world experiences, Jon has gained an intimate knowledge of how to work and collaborate with artists, managers, producers, and all types of music industry personnel.

Jon is currently the owner and operator of the residential Wildflower Recording Studios in Pasadena, California.
